Idaho is built from samples. Everything melodic is from the piano note at the beginning of All These Things That I've Done by the Killers. I've come to think of naming electronica songs after places as a cliche (think Canada by Cold Storage, Montreal by Autechre, etc.) but this time there's a good reason. I'll leave that to you to figure out. Here are the songs sampled:
Aphex Twin – Let My Fish Loose (26 Mixes for Cash)
Aphex Twin – Techno Tetris
The Global DJs – You Are All of That
Phish – First Tube (Farmhouse)
The Killers – All These Things That I’ve Done (Hot Fuss)
Mountain – Mississippi Queen (Climbing!)
Nina Simone – Sinnerman (The Thomas Crown Affair)
Paul Simon – She Moves On (The Rhythm of the Saints)
Ratatat – Crips (Ratatat)
Youtube videos:
Malcolm Gladwell on Spaghetti Sauce
Saul Williams – Amethyst Rock
